The Aurat March 2019 in Karachi, part of Pakistan's International Women’s Day rallies, brought together a diverse array of people to demand an end to gender violence and discrimination, with a focus on social and economic justice. The march, now a significant annual event, featured women’s rights advocates, minority groups, students, and volunteers from prominent NGOs. Participants carried creative banners, chanted slogans, and performed symbolic acts, including the 'janaaza (funeral) of patriarchy.'
Naik was commissioned to photograph this iconic event by TRT World, and his coverage earned him the Agahi Award for Photojournalist of the Year in Pakistan.
